The Water Has An Attraction

Ever since I was exposed to open water as a boy, I have not been able to be away from it. Something magnetic happens when I am close to any body of water. As a young teenager I was lucky enough to land in Newport Beach California when my father made a career move. Being a beach town, I was immediately drawn to the water where sailing and surfing was a key element of the community and quickly adapted to the coastal life. Fast forward over 40 years later and I find myself still chasing the water. Sailing is in my blood and I can't seem to get it out of my system.

So as I near retirement age, I decided the way I want to retire is the same way I started. Being on the water while sharing my knowledge and experiences. But when you think about it, I am not really retiring. I am simply making my passion something that keeps me on the water and pays the bills. And the best way to accomplish my last act is to be a bigger part of the Sailing community. With that, I opened Sail Sport Northwest and the rest of the story is unwritten. Reconnecting with my lifelong friend Bob Pattison of Neil Pryde Sails International on a professional level has opened up an opportunity to service a part of the active Pacific Northwest sailing community and beyond. I am a small family run company, not one of the sailing industry juggernauts. We are not amazon and we don't ship with supersonic speed. But what we do is part of what I see as an American Dream. All I can ask is that you support our small business which happens to be attached to a sport we all love. Please consider supporting us so we an keep doing what we all love.

And last, we all know our sport is changing. The high cost of sailing has slowed the growth of the sport. Less juniors are finding the passion of sailing, and yacht clubs are not as family oriented as they once were. My goal is to help junior sailors and adults share my passion. And in return, I can make a few dollars to keep the lights on and keep on sailing. Thank you for your support, and if there is anything you would like us to consider carrying in our store, please contact us. We want to hear from you, and share the draw of the water that made this all possible.

By the way, if you contact us, or order something and we don't respond promptly, I apologize. We are probably out sailing, or at a Regatta doing the sailing thing. We will get to you as soon as humanly Possible. There is no AI involved in our process. We have no robots, flying monkeys, or private jet. We are a simple shop.

Aloha
